Holy shit. What does it take to set up a Miata for racing?

Both the SS and the Mustangs recommend pretty extensive maintenance to set up for track use and then reversing for street driving.

The damn 350's aren't even meant for tracking at all.... Too funny.

Seems like these cars (SS included) need to be modified to be track day toys and then relegated to being garage queens outside of track use.

I don't recall any aftermarket parts (coolers or otherwise) being recommended for the SS.

Correct. All they recommended to due for extended track use was to swap out to the smaller shields on the front brakes, and to remove the two front air directors underneath the car.

I don't know what to tell you, but that is indeed the case. If you want to know why they are waiting, you should address the magazine staff. Speculating about it on a message board is not going to change anything.

I think Ford did a great job. Now on to what a lot of us are wondering. How fast did the Z run this course?

Glad they ran the M7 Z06...at the big local Corvette show one of the engineers and I were talking and he said on a road course he strongly recommends and prefers the manual.
