Tap shift lowers Fuel Econ? or my CAI?

Hey everyone I was just curious if anyone else has noticed a fuel econ drop due to the use of tap shift. I am rather conservative with it and have noticed a 1.5 mpg drop. I don't step on it. My Rotofab has been on for 3 weeks and I have been keeping my foot out of it any ideas?? ( It isn't too bad but I have to fill up every 7 days as opposed to 9)

I'm betting it's the tap shifters. You are probably not shifting as economical as the computer would, especially if you are downshifting.

I'm almost certain it's the tap shifting. Like what has been suggested the computer knows the best area to shift for the best mpg and does it much more consistently.

That is minimally effective on a V6 at best (though some people seem to have experienced some results). It's most likely the tap shifting. The cai should see you better mpg!

Back in my home town area it was pretty hilly and did a couple experiments along the same road and I could get between 1-1.5 mpg better with tap shifting when I had the stock air box on the highway. Right now I have the Vararam intake and on the interstate going like 75 mph I feel like I'm losing 2 mpg.

I lost MPGs with my CAI. Doesn't matter if I'm using tap shift or auto. Dropped about 1-1.5 MPG
