First of all, awesome review! Thanks!

Second, I follow this guy "Saabkyle04" on YouTube as he does awesome in-depth reviews of all kinds of cars. He recently did a review on the 2016 SS and it looks exactly like the one you drove! (also a 1SS/Manual)

Check this out if you want more good in-depth info about the new Camaro:

I'm on a dilemma between buying a '14-'15 ZL1 that has been my dream car or now getting the new 6th.gen in automatic transmission to be able to share it with my wife, but also I will like to enjoy some track time with the toy. Performance wise wich one will give me more for my $?
I prefer my ZL1 for every day driving. The 6th gen SS or performance model would be my preferred canyon carver as it feels smaller and lighter. The 5th gen ZL1 has more power, but feels a little bit heavier and bulkier through the canyons comparatively. if you aren't able to get into the correct gear fast enough, I would suggest the 6th gen as it would be a little bit more forgiving. I can't speak for the automatic transmission shifts compared to the 5th gen because I wasn't given an auto. I hope this helps.

Did you let the GM reps know about the A/C? Keep in mind that these are still very early production cars so they are definitely looking to find any more issues.

This road trip to all corners of the country was a really good test for these cars. They've hit everything from hot and humid, to heavy rain, to snow in the span of a few weeks.
That is good to know about the lighting and padded areas. Thanks for the info.

Got a short clip of the car when it was parked. Sounds mean!

It looks like he was the one who drove the same car from New Orleans to Dallas and I drove it from Dallas to ABQ. =)

Nice write up Jarrod. I would note that you and the other guy "Saabkyle04" drove cars with different license plate numbers.

First, was wonderful escorting you around Houston with the others and seeing the vehicle and meeting you.

The only sound deadening in the Camaro is the floorboard carpet in the cabin. There are a few (6?) aluminum 6"x6" "dead panels" about 5mm thick throughout the car, but basically the entire body of the car is a hollow box frame wrapped around that cabin. The only fix is to take the car apart and install deadening material throughout. There is an argument to use 105 vs 165 sq ft, but no matter how much is used, doing so will add approximately 1.5lbs/sq ft. Materials and labor can easily run $1,250-$2,000 (unless DIY). The vehicle will sound 100% better inside and lower ambient road noise 15-20db, but of course at a cost of a lighter pocket book, a week of labor and weight.

Good catch. He was mentioning Mag ride in the video as well now that I think about it.

oh, I understand why. On some roads it was REALLY bad. It should be mentioned simply because some people will be purchasing these cars for daily drivers and deserve to know. On the track, I'm not worried about road noise, but for long cruises when I want to listen to the radio or have a conversation, I want to be able to.

It was really nice to cruise the forest with you guys. Thank you for coming out. It was even better to see the whole Camaro Lineup (LT, SS, ZL1, Z/28) at once too. James wasn't able to get all 4 cars at once on the highway though. That would have been awesome!

I know James is going to come in here and post his pictures, but I wanted to post this one asap as it's one of my favorite of the bunch.

The track was closed but there was a lane open and the security guard allowed us a single picture. James made it count!

So sad that white SS didn't make it to LA. Or if it did, sad they didn't have it out tonight.
