Blizzaks

Anyone run these in the winter ? happy with them ?

I found a set on craigslist, aftermarket 17 wheels, with like new Blizzak tires.

I thought 18's or larger was needed to clear the brake caliper ?

anyone mind sharing what you paid ?

what's a good price ? and where if I buy new ?

I used Blizzak DMV1s two winters in a row and had no issues. I bought them new from the TireRack with the rims and pressure sensors. I think it was about $1100 delivered.

What size wheels did you put them on ? your stock wheels, or did you buy aftermarktet ?

My SS is a daily driver all year, for winter the Blizzaks are the way to go for snow/ice here in Minneapolis. I've had mine since Dec. '11 using the 275/40/20 Blizzak DMV1's from tires+ mounted on 4 20x9 replica Camaro rims from discount tire (160 each) You didn't say you have an SS in the 1st post, so if you do, the big brakes will need the 20" rim to clear. adding the 4 TPMS sensors, mount & balance at dealership came to about 2k. let me know if ya have any questions.

I have a set on my wife's daily driver for winter. They are pretty awesome! Never thought much of snow tires until I purchased her car with the extra set of rims with these on them. Will get you in and out of most places that all seasons would keep you stuck in. (Primarily stopped on a hill because the moron in front of you doesn't know how to drive in winter.)

I bought a set of Blizzaks for my 2012 Charger. They are awesome winter tires with no complaints here. My tires are 20" and were expensive ($1200 I think), but well worth it. Tirerack seems to be the cheapest place I've seen. There is a Michelin that is comparable, but even more expensive... The tires are directional. I ended up buying the same wheel size for all 4 corners so I can at least rotate them from front to back.
