Holley Sniper Low Profile Intake manifold
I've ordered part number 822112-1.
https://www.holley.com/products/inta...parts/822112-1 But now I'm reading that there's not much benefit to running this intake. Actually without boost people lose alot of low end torque in exchange for a slight gain in HP up top. This is characteristic of a short runner intake. I thought in a boosted application it may be an upgrade to the stock ls3 intake. I'm looking for people with real world results that have run this intake, and their opinions on the pros vs cons. This intake has a 102mm tb, opening, so to take full advantage I would need to upgrade my TB. Seems the NW 102mm seems like the most popular, and also very expensive piece. I'm starting to think the cost may not be worth the rewards. The motor is a Dart SHP LS Next 427 10.3:1, Frankenstein M311 head, TMS centri cam, ESS Tuning G4X supercharger, DSX triple 450s, fic 1300, Mcleod RXT 1200hd, TSP 2inch header, 3 inch exhaust. Shooting for 1200whp. Should I sell it and get more BMR traction stuff? Currently have BMR adj toe rods w/spherical bushings BMR adj trailing arms w/spherical bushings BMR trailing arm bushings (spindle side) BMR Motor Mounts Looking at their control arms to go 15inch.

That is the manifold that I am running right now.
With that exact same TB (102mm) In regards for power well I am making 702rwhp/600tq at 7psi The power delivery comes in around 5krpm (I have a procharger D1x with 3.85 pulley) So in that aspect it kinda sucks since there is very little room to enjoy the boost However it drives great on the low end (with the 3.91 gears) so I really don't feel a difference. Should I change anything it would be that I wanted to try the stock intake manifold with the stock TB to see how it would run differently.

Have not seen that one run. Seen other custom sheet metal intakes run. One thing that become apparent fast besides Runner length of course was the CI. of the motor. The OEM can only flow so much CFM.
Lot of factors. Cost, RPM, the 427ci, M6, safety etc. If staying under 23ish boost keep the OEM. It will make more power under 4500 then just about any intake out there. But will start dropping off a bit after 5500. The Drop off after 6000 will be more than the videos because of the big 427. Sound weird but air“boost” will stack up in the intake. OEM will be a better driver with the M6. Make killer power up to midrange. Cost $0, BUT can explode if running to high boost(look it up cool looking but bad lol). Will give up 50+ RWHP at high RPMs. Will be the restriction on the awesome 427 with Frankenstein heads. Metal intake #1 safety. The 427 should be ok on torque low on RPMs. Will let the big 427 with M311 Heads flow the air they need. I bet you will drop 2 psi up past 6000. But big $$$. I am keeping the OEM LS3 for now on my 416 / novi2200x build. Staying under 20psi. Also keeping the RPMs under 6800. You may benefit quite a bit from that intake. |

I dont know where the boost pressure will come in, but I'll be spinning the G4X at around 70,000rpm. Probably 20-22.
