I think that the 6th.gen ZL1 is the better car. A chassis that could handle easily the S.C. engine and without overheating, but the C7 Stingray looks way better.

I don't see the ZL1's being $40-45k cars in a year, there just aren't enough of them. |

If I was doing a lot of shorter track events and road course I'd get the 1lt grandsport.. I found both the Zl1 and GS 1LT/Z to be right at 60k.. the vette actually was a higher priced car but more discounts..
I was 50/50 on both drove several but what got me was the lack of power if I came up on a roll racer.. For the Zl1 and the Grandsport are near identical 0 to 60 and the 1/4 but the zl1 does have a higher mph in the 1/4 The GS with 335s in the rear look amazing to! I also had a coupon for 5k off a Ceramic Brake Vette I found only 1 GS w the lower pkg that had it and it was yellow! plus it was a 78k car for 62k after all the discounts I think it be a higher resale but I'm happy w the ZL1

Where did you get that coupon? They we're selling Z07 packages for like $15k off at one point.

Thanks for all the replays and comments guys. The Vette I am driving is an 11 Carbon Ed Z06. When I first got it I figured for sure it was a keeper. Just getting a little bored of it. Tire noise is definitely an issue as well as the ride on constantly degrading roads . The SS I drove seemed like it would be much more liveable on less than perfect roads. Granted I don't think the tires were as big as the ZL1. Love the CCM brakes on the Vette, but if the ZL1 stops good with steel that's fine. Does the ZL1 have the same "bathtub" muffler as the other Camaro's?

Not to mention there is atleast 5-10 z06s in every Chevy dealership showroom I've visited and literally 2 zl1s in the whole state! I don't know the true numbers but I'd guess they made a hell of a lot more z06s than zl1s...which should help retain some value as well.
