I believe MT only put in the 1 mile race just so the Mustang can win at something... A 1 mile drag race on a dry lake bed is pretty irrelevant.

I don’t think your boss is much faster than my ‘11 gt in a straight line. Have you driven the new SS?

It’s on a different planet than my gt as far as 0-60 times go. Mustang takes a hero launch to get the advertised number. Camaro you just stomp on it.

The 2013 Boss was roughly $45-47k...assuming you got it for sticker. The current SS goes for about $36-37k to start...

Have you ever run your Boss at the track? I have seen several and none have come close to the times you're quoting from mags.

I’ve never driven a boss, but if I was in an a8 camaro ss, and john force pulled up next to me in his stock boss, I’d bet my bank account the camaro would win

Exactly. I've driven both which is why I asked. The performance of the boss isn't even close to the SS.

Base Boss was $40,995 in 2012. Motor Trend went 12.3@115 in it.

So five years later and 10 grand more and it does the same in the 1/4?

The only Boss 302 that hit 47K (the base price of the 1SS+10K) was the Boss 302 Laguna Seca...otherwise the Boss topped out at 44,000ish

I owned a 2012 GT and the Boss is much faster. Most reviews have the Boss 3-5 tenths quicker and 3-4 mph faster in the 1/4. I have driven a new 1LE and I would say the race would be neck and neck likely coming down to who is the better driver, unlike the automatics it is going to take the driver skills to launch the car.

Why are we throwing the Boss in the conversation? The 2018 mustang with 15 more HP seems to under perform in comparison. The original topic is about the 2018 stang and here we are trying to throw in random cars to grasp at straws. What's next? The GT500 to even the playing field?

relax, the point of bringing up the Boss was to show that 2 cars of equal weight one being a torque monster with a HP advantage and the other being a 5yo gutless turd with a feminine powerband and down on peak power can produce the same 1/4 mile times/speeds.

at least thats what i got out of it.

I'll let the old farts argue that out then. There's more to it than the engine but you can't teach old dogs new tricks.
