Happened to me with the over-tightening as well. Especially when hot, they snap so easily. Happened to me on my Shelby GT500 when I changed the throttle body, I didn't even feel like I was turning it hard.

That should be a big disclaimer on people doing this for the first time. DO NOT OVER-TIGHTEN!

Glad I am not the only one with this issue!

On the brighter side, I successfully installed the Mamo Throttle body today, it's awesome. My car is an M6, so the throttle lag when taking off from a stop was always a pain to make sure you found the exact sweet spot in letting out the clutch so that the car didn't hesitate or try to stumble. Drove around for a couple hours today, and that issue is completely gone. Dead throttle pedal in all gears is also gone.

I have had probably a dozen manual transmission cars over the past 35 years(Camaro's, Corvette's, Mustang's), so I consider myself proficient. I think my 2010 Camaro SS was probably the easiest manual to drive. Because of this throttle lag in the Gen 6, these new Camaro's are probably the most difficult manual car I have ever driven. This TB fixes all that. I cannot believe difference.

For anyone on the fence, I highly recommend.

Thanks Tony!

Throttle body removal

Received my throttle body today. How does the clip on the electrical connection work? I can not seem to get it to budge.

I unplugged mine with the TB was still on the car. All I did was put my index finger under the plug and sorta pinch it, or squeeze for another term, you can feel it change positions then just slide the plug out.

Looks like the gray tab slides up first. Then typical squeeze and pull. Let me know if that's right.

Slide the grey plastic piece back and then it will pinch to release.

Finally was able to get it to release but not without the gray tab snapping off. All the videos I checked out said it was just a matter of sliding that tab back, pinching to release but my tab wasn't budging. Should have been able to remove the connection with one hand but no such luck. But even without the tab it still "clicks" back into place and you still have to pinch it to remove so I think I'm ok. Other than that, four bolts (not overtightened) and ready to roll. Thanks for the replies.

I'm sure it'll be fine. The sliding bit is just an overkill lock.

Got mine Sunday and today i drove my car to work for the first time since the swap and i definitely feel a difference in the throttle response. Good Job Tony! I have 3500 miles on my car now, took delivery back in April and was surprised how dirty my original TB was.

Any cars found to be running a little lean or rich with this installed without a tune? I did a direct bolt on with a Vmax on my '12 SS and when I had it tuned later on, I was told by my tuner that the car had been running a little off to compensate for the TB when it came into the shop.

I'd like to do a quick air-in build on my ZL1, but I don't plan on having it dyno tuned anytime soon....

Thoughts?
