Parking Brake Groan

Hey guys,

About a month ago or so I was in a 15 mph rear end accident. After the accident when I pull the parking brake, I can hear a groaning sound. Sometimes it does it, and sometimes it doesn’t. I am taking it to the dealer soon, but I was curious if something similar has happened to anyone?

My 2018 SS has made a groaning sound since new when applying the brake.

I listened this afternoon with the radio off and I when I pushed up the parking brake lever button, I did hear a low groan as it goes on. However, with the radio on, it is not discernible.

I sometimes hear it on my 2SS. It seems more noticeable if I'm parked on a slope or hill.

every 6th gen I've been in has made that noise when applying the parking brake.

Thanks everyone, that's so interesting. When i check it on other camaros they don't make a noise, just the electronic whirring sound when it activates but no groan. Maybe I'm just going crazy.
