That's a good video. It may get yanked for street racing but the lesson here is play to the strengths of your SS, the low end torque puts him away before he gets moving.

Happened once already today unfortunately. At least you are aware. But in light of the race, that can't be a good feeling for the GT350. Makes you think more and more that the 1LE will handily run with or have a real good chance of embarrassing the precious base model track rat mustang

If it were a M6 vs M6 race, all 4 runs would've been closer I believe. The A8's 60ft better but I think the M6 Camaro's may be quicker from a roll. It would be nice to see the M6's go at it.

This goes to show you how close 2 vehicles can compete with different drivers. On paper, there is a bigger difference between the gt350 trap speed and the SS than there is between the SS and the mustang...yet, no-one here seems to think the GT and SS can compete.

Important things when competing.. power, weight and gearing.. and I'll illustrate power and weight.

The only advantage the GT350 has is 71 more HP.. SS has 26 more lb/torq and weights 50-150 lbs ligther.

With the GT the SS has 20 more HP, 55 more lb/trq and weights 50-150 lbs lighter.

There's a more distance/gap between the SS and GT than the 350 vs SS. This is a reason why the best time for an M6 GT is ~12.8 -13.0

While the GT350 can run ~12.2 and ~12.3 for the SS.. Those are the best times that I see have tested and not using the fast list from both sides.

5.0 is a great car, I know I had one.. best bang for you buck with a big aftermarket support. But stock for stock it's on the losing end.

It's a good, drivers race with a M6 Scatpack.. the auto Scatpack has an aggressive gearing and will beat a 5.0 auto. Impressive car for the extra weight.

Trap speed is what you want, not ET. Trap speed will give you a better idea of what a vehicle is capable of while ET will show you what the driver is capable of. The GT350 (non R) traps in the high 117mph range while the SS traps in the mid-low 114mph range. The GT is right in the 112mph range. The GT350 R is in the 119 mph range. Obviously there are exceptions to this, as conditions can affect these greatly. I've heard of all 3 trapping higher, and all 3 trapping lower.

FYI, for as heavy as everyone makes the mustang out to be...the listed curb weights are closer than you would think. The GT350 is listed as 31 lbs heavier than the SS while the GT is 57.

From a dig (torque). 350 can't recover

IMHO, trap speed just shows which car has more hp. Torque gets you going and will be used way more often the high mph.
