Do you think they will release a ZL1 the first year the Gen 6 Camaro is released?
Or do you think they will follow the tradition of Corvette the last few generations and release Base Models first than follow with the performance version or versions of the vehicle?

Without a doubt it will be a few years after initial release!

Or they could do like Dodge did with the Challenger. The initial release was the SRT.

What about the idea that the ZL1 will be a 5th Gen, and when the newer supposedly lighter Gen 6 comes out, that's when they'll announce the Z28.

Do you really think they would make a Z28 with more power than the ZL1?

It's already been said they plan on continuing the ZL1 past the 5th Generation.
I have a feeling unless something crazy happens this will be the Halo Car for Camaro for awhile. |

I see the ZL1 being the high horsepower heavy Gen 5, and the Z28 being made on the lighter, more agile Gen 6 platform perhaps with a V6 of some flavor, possibly a turbo, but with less horsepower than the ZL1. |

i honestly think the ZL1 will be a 5th gen camaro only. with the way GM has been acting over the years, and how theyve sorta been moving toward green cars, the Zl1 will be limited in production IMO. i think for the 6th gen camaro there will be a z28, probably a biturbo v6 a few years into production.. but idk im just spitballing. i honestly think the high end performing muscle cars era is going to be short lived considering things like the gas guzzler tax and such, if gas gets any more expensive...idk

If anything, the SS should get a turbo V6 and the Z/28 should get a NA V8. The ZL1 can keep the supercharged V8. |
