3.91s would be the cheapest option.

I've been doing some research on how they work. Lower the gear more acceleration you'll half meaning faster of the line? As in contrast to a bigger gear more top speed you can get. So 3.91 is between both and the most bang for your buck?

I've read that 3.91's have been the way to go for the 5th gens.

3.91's are a killer upgrade for the LS3, but a little aggressive for the L99. They're also pretty affordable and reliable since they are a GM part.
Feel free to call, PM or email me anytime with questions. Best regards, Tyler 888-308-6007 |

Where can I get them? I've seen 3.73 and 4.11 from phastek performance. Any other good performance part cites out there?

You can get them directly from gm at your dealership.

So would that mean it wouldn't void my warranty since it's a GM part?

They actually come with a warranty if you buy the parts through your dealership and have them installed there.

Sweet! I've been looking for things I can upgrade without voiding it. Any other parts I can swap out from the dealer that wouldn't void it? Please let me know. It would be greatly appreciated.

When equipped with the manual transmission (M6) the SS comes with a 3.45 rear end and cruises at 1612 RPM at 70 MPH. By upgrading the factory 3.45s to the 3.73s you will realize an equivalent torque gain of approximately 10% or 42 lb.-ft. of torque and cruise at 1750 RPM at 70 MPH. By upgrading to 3.91s you will realize an equivalent torque gain of approximately 13% or 54.6 lb.-ft. of torque and cruise at 1800 RPM at 70 MPH. By upgrading to 4.11s you will realize an equivalent torque gain of approximately 20% or 84 lb.-ft. of torque and cruise at 1915 RPM at 70 MPH. By upgrading to 4.33s you will realize an equivalent torque gain of approximately 25% or 105 lb.-ft. of torque and cruise at 2025 RPM at 70 MPH. We have found that the 3.91s and 4.11s are great gear options for most M6 equipped SS street applications. The 3.91 gears are the most economical option.

Awesome! That explains a lot! I've been doing some research but not so clear on it. Mi will surely look into getting the 3.91s, does it need to be re-tuned after install? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |
