I have the complete, headers and 3" exhaust, XS Power system with high flow cats and Vibrant resonators. This set up is perfect for me and it has no drone at any speed. Its quiet when you want it to be and loud if needed. Awesome sound.

I have this system with ARH's 1 7/8" LT and I DO HAVE DRONE!! but only in 6th gear from 1500-2000 rpms...which means I'm either not using 6th on the highway or changing gears to 4.11's to make better use of the engine anyway.

I have Kooks long tubes with high flow cats going into my stock exhaust. I have no drone at any rpm level.

The key to eliminating drone at cruise (1600-2100 rpms) is to kill the offensive frequencies causing the exhaust system, and sometimes the chassis, from resonating. The stock SS resonators are like kill boxes for bad sound, and are designed along with the mufflers to not drone.

Long tubes with high flow cats going into the remaining stock exhaust with the resonators and mufflers will give you the low rumble at idle you love, and the crazy roar at WOT. All this without the drone.

Omegaman - going that route makes sense.

Do the 1 7/8" Kooks LTs with high-flow cats bolt right up to the stock exhaust?

Bill

Anybody?

Yes it does around 70 mph in 6th gear on my car. Got better when I swapped cam's though.

I just installed Kooks long tubes and their new 2.5 street sleeper full system and it sounds sweet,no drone. The other Kooks system I think is a 3 inch system and it does have some drone. From what I have heard 3 inch tends to have it more often.

amazing how it has no drone, but yet so loud

Mine is the same way. No drone.

It's mostly having to do with the mufflers and the way they're designed. Corsa is a 2.5" system though. That's how most companies steer away from the drone. I have no drone iwth my true 3" all the way from headers to muffler tips.

My LMII sounds good but cruising on the highway in 6th drones bad. Hoping the 4.11 I want to put in finds a sweet spot and kill drone. If not, going to try a Borla.
