Are you guys able to daily drive your SS 1LE's year round? Do you have an alternate set of wheels/tires to drive on besides the OEM Goodyear Supercar 3's? I live in the South East and currently drive my 1LE everyday with the stock tires even in below freezing temps.

My Wife may interview for a job in the Seattle Area and I have a Business connection that should be able to help me find a job up there as a Design Engineer. I'm trying to gauge if I would need to budget another car to daily drive into our decision.

Is that black with black mosaic stripes? If so our cars are twins.

yes, I daily my 1LE year round, but I have a set of winter wheels and tires. it doesn't get below freezing that often, but it is often around 40 degrees and raining, and that's no good for the Goodyear Supercar 3's. even with my pirelli pzero neros in the wet, I spin the rears when I (rarely) don't pay attention and just accelerate.

I picked up my car in 24 degree weather and had no issues driving it home on the new S3s - We had the worst winter here in 100+ years and I didn't have any issues.

I don't daily it but it is my only car (bus commute 2-4 days a week), so I did drive it often in inclement weather.

You can buy snow tires if you like, but all seasons are enough and honestly the summer tires are ok if you're responsible.

Did you guys see the post about a ZL1 accident at pacific raceways? I really feel for the person. Hope they had track insurance and walked away okay.

I'm scheduled to run the same track on June 14th (first time) and was on the fence about track insurance. No question I'm doing it now.

Ouch, Pacific Raceways is a bit risky compared to other tracks in our region (Ridge, ORP) since there's not enough run off area and imperfections on the road. I would definitely pay close attention to Turn 1 and T 5a-5b since I see most of the incidents happen there

I agree PR is a tougher track than the Ridge and ORP. My one and only crash on my sport bike was on turn 3B. Combination of dampness and the ruts in the corner got me. I remember hearing they were going to add run off to the track, but I guess it never did materialize. After that, I wound up going the extra distance to the ridge to get the better runoff.
