I like the OEM pads on track, too

I'm interested how they will do on Laguna as well. I will definitely be frequenting Sonoma and Laguna this year

So for those of you guys who switched pads, did you switch right away to new pads negating the need to have the rotors ground down? Did you shave the rotors? Or just swap pads and bed them in?

Once I run through these stock pads I will be swapping to DTC60 track / HPS street and I would like to continue to use my rotors (assuming they still have life in them).

I switched them right before the first event and didn't follow to bedding in procedure completely but did a few quick stops on my way (when the road allowed). I didn't have to shave any of my rotors so far. They have been just fantastic

hmm Im assuming after a full set of stock pads the rotors would require a shave before swapping to Hawks compound eh?

No, don't bother. Any track pad is more aggressive, it'll cut through the OE pad material without issue.

That's actually a really good idea. Swap to the 60's at the track, run a full day. After I get home swap on the new HPS's and bed those. Good to go. A successful swap to Hawks compound without shaving the rotors.

I've never had any issues switching between the race pads and street pads on the same rotors

If you are swapping Hawk to Hawk, you do not need to re-bed.

I need to ask: so I have not read a single bad review on a stock pad. So why are you guys moving to different pads? Performance (and if so, in what way different), cost (ditto pls).
Thx!

AutoX. The DTC-30 has almost full 'grip' from cold. Much more bite than the cold OEM pad.

Re On Track Use: As I've said many times- novice drivers have absolutely zero need for anything but OE. The OE pads can take all the punishing an advanced driver can throw at them, however... being a big and heavy car- the higher friction afforded my a dedicated track pad offers less pad wear/less pedal effort/quicker response.

The only car I've driven with equal OE brakes\pads is Porsche GT stuff. That's one hell of a compliment.
