My Camaro is at it again...
Two weeks ago I got my Camaro back from the dealer after a 3 week fight to get my transmission repaired under warranty.
Today I was driving home and all of a sudden I hear a loud, constant rumble coming from what sounded like the transmission. The sound is speed dependent. Shifting gears or into neutral does not change the sound. Neither does depressing the clutch. The rumble diminishes as the speed decreases until there is no extra sound at idle. Below 10 mph the sound is virtually imperceptible. Anyone have any idea what it might be? If it may be something covered under the power train warranty I want to take it to the dealer; if not I will take it to my garage for repair. The car has 71K miles on it and a Hurst shifter - which is what caused the argument about the transmission. Any thoughts or ideas are welcome... thanks. |

It is either a bearing or half shaft. It will be repaired next week. I have another rental until then...
On the bright side I took a look at a new 1LE and fell in love. I even worked out a deal... but I need my car fixed before I decide to do anything. |

Camaro repaired... I don't have the exact parts list in front of me but the transmission had to be pulled and a couple of output bearings, output shaft and some other parts had to be replaced.
