Is this a possibility?
As we sit and eagerly wait for a date for the official unveiling of the 6th Gen. Could it be possible that GM would do a streaming event at the Detroit Auto show? I am thinking that they could do the unveiling live from the Lansing Grand River facility. We would then see the 6th gen roll off the assembly line!! So could that be a possibilty?!!

If they reveal at Detroit it's highly unlikely they'd be ready to start up production the same day.

^^^^ I wouldn't go that far... We haven't received a single allocation for Camaro in 5 weeks which is unusual

Not with the lay offs that just happened at the Lansing plant.

If they were ready to start up production at LGR next month you'd have uncamo-ed CTF cars everywhere by now.

Cool idea, but all the previous posts are correct. An auto show introduction never coincides with the start of production, even pilot production. The timing just isn't right for that.
The first thing you'll see is GM calling the workers back to begin the 2nd shift again. That will indicate the ramp up of production. I still don't see the intro in Detroit and I don't see start of regular production for customer availability until very late 2015. It wouldn't even surprise me if they built up a bunch of 2015s to put on the lots and tide them over until early 2016.

Well, since Camaro production is moving from Canada to Lancing, no retooling is needed unless they're going to convert some other production line to the Gen 6 Camaro. They could be doing that slowly now.

They need to tool LGR for Camaro production.

It takes two months for a minor change. To add a completely new model to an existing plant will take more like a year. Wow are you guys hopeful!

just throwing it out there these auto plants have run trial after trial on these cars already. I work in the auto industry and they have been running full vehicles for trials and tooling setup and there is no set release date for what they are trialing right now. That being said when they announce the 6th gen they will more than likely be very close or have been building a production model for a few weeks.
