The C6 version? Well my team did all the CF and the Aluminum frame on that. We did a really cool thing with the floor using the existing balsa wood core but molding it in CF to save another few pounds. That car remains, and I suspect always will be, the highlight of my career. I have severe affection for the LS7, so any C6 Z06 has a special place in my automotive heart. So a 2006 or 2007 would be just fine. The earlier models I think had some engine issues but pre CC brakes and the addition of some of the creature comforts that snuck back in. However, there is a yellow 2003 Z06 at the used car dealer just up the street. $25,000 is a bit steep, but that was a pretty nice car, too.

I'm kinda tempted to pick up a C5 at some point...might satisfy my Corvette craving for now.

I'll be happy with a 6th Gen SS with less weight and better power ...

This is the same source that is consistently wrong over at GMi, even stating that he had several sources indicating a 4000 lbs ATS. Basically it's common sense speculation passed off as inside news.

I would say twin turbo V6 of say around 550+ BHP would make a very sweet Z/28 and fit nicely between an LT4 ZL1 and a LT1 SS/1LE. It could be more than equal to the Ford flat plane V8. If they do the turbos right, no heat soak at the track. And a Z/28 like that could easily be over 600 HP or more with just a tune. The engine is here and all it needs is a little more beefing up and more boost.

What's annoying is if I knew the next Z/28 was FI, GM would have sold another Z/28 at the 20% discount.
