Will Chevrolet ever build and sell another Chevrolet Silverado SS?

Will Chevy ever make another Silverado or Colorado SS pickup?

Well, there was the Cheyenne concept @ SEMA '13 that no one from GM hung their head over... Some of its elements were "show-only", but this truck is essentially "buildable"...

That is sweet!...Makes me wonder why Chevy stopped the SS trucks and Ford stopped the Lightning F150's because both brands always sold very well..

The last-Gen Colorado-Canyon DID offer an alloy 5.3 V8 in certain models only...and the take-rate, as I recall, was very low.

No more Dakota, either, which DID sell in decent numbers with V8s, but it was a bigger, heavier truck.

Would an LT1-engined new-Gen Colorado have a market? Perhaps. But...since GM never built a Regular Cab Short Box 6.0 or 6.2 Silverado 1500 (and all the parts for such a truck, save HD driveshaft, exist(ed)), I don't see the engineering dollars being spent on a Colorado, so equipped. And, as mentioned, the Cheyenne concept therefore is a long shot, as well...

...emblem on upper front fender, by door mirror...

If an inline 5-cylinder will fit, so will a V8...

So to you, in a Super Sport badged vehicle, the number of cylinders is more important than actual sportiness?

Hey, I'd prefer a V8 too. But if my options for a sporty Chevy pickup were between a ~450 hp V8 Silverado and a ~420 TTV6 Colorado, I would gladly pick the 6.

You can have your 6cyl and I will stick with my V8's, I figure its my money and if they ever make another SS with a V8 then I would buy it....
