Forced Induction with Cutouts - Any Issues?

I am considering adding cutouts on my exhaust just for occasional fun, but want to know if anyone running boost and cutouts have had any issues.

I know of one other guy on the forum that I have corresponded with that said he gets a "backfire" when deceleration occurs (he has cutouts) but did not have this issue when he was just running a cam and headers. The backfire started after adding forced induction.

I asked him if he had to do it all over again if he would still add them and he basically said it was great before adding boost, but now it was bad enough that he intends to change up his exhaust system.

I am running a Maggie set at 10 psi and full Kooks headers/cats/mufflers, etc. My shop will install a set of cutouts for ~ $800.

I would like to hear what you guys have to say first.

Thanks!

from what i heard, there were heat issues due to the boost and exhaust runs hotter...most people complained that motors went bad due to heat, anything running approx 600rwhp, i would prob not advise it..imo

I have QTPs with the whipple. It's loud as shit when you open them, like Earth shaking, life changing loud. I don't run them open often though.

No issues whatsoever!
Noweeds (FI) since 2011, currently @ 15# boost - all is well!

Boost seems to drop a bit, but it's difficult to read the gauge when going flat-out with diverters open

They sound great open, but at the track my car slows down over a second, it feels like it loses boost and runs like crap.

I have a centri and it seems less responsive and shifts tend to lag on part throttle. I just don't like the feel of them open. I haven't gone WOT with them open after the blower. Also I was told by my tuner that I dropped 8 HP on the dyno w them open

I should also mention my car is noticeably sluggier from a stop with them open. This may be a good thing if you don't have traction on street tires.

I cut the same 60 and same ET open or closed. Dyno #'s don't change open or closed.

The numbers may not change, I just notice the car is slower out of the hole with them open.

Whipple with DMH cutouts. No cats. Dyno #'s don't change much open or closed. +\- 3hp.
Have a friend with same setup running hi flow cats and he ran into heat issues when running with them open. Melted some shit. I haven't had that issue but not running cats either.
