I did it!!! ordered new 2012 SS2/RS VERT did i do good?

Hi like title says I ordered new 2SS VERT today. My deal was about 2,050 off dealer list. The list was 44,975 and the sale price was 42,925. My trade in was my 2010 2SSRS WITH 1,000 MILES. (WEEKEND CAR) My old and new car options are Auto, RS package, Polished wheels, Rally stripes. The dealer is giving me no less than 28,500 upon new car delivery and as much as 30,000 depending on the market. I also get the 7% sales tax credit which would make my trade value 32,100 based on 30,000 trade. Did I get a GOOD deal?

1000 miles? Dang. I put 1200 on mine the first week!
Your trade sounds like a fair deal. As far as the new one, and it being ordered, I think you did great if it is the exact car that you want.
YOU are the one paying for it and driving it!
Hurry up and get some pics!

Somebody will always tell you you could have done better, but if you spend all your time searching, you will never have a car.

Sounds like a great ride!
Enjoy it.

That never happens. KBB is not what dealers use to determine trade value. Auctions are. Nobody will get $33,00 for a trade on a used Camaro. Even a low mileage 2011.

Also, your sales tax credit will only be determined by the equity you have in the trade. You get the full amount only if the trade is paid off (fully owned by you). From your post, it sounds like the dealer may be playing a numbers game with you. Be prepared for things to be different when the deal actually gets done.

If you're happy then that's all that matters.

Although technically speaking, looking at just the numbers, you essentially paid $10,000 more for the same car, two years newer, minus the roof, with only 1,000 fewer miles on it.

Those numbers are likely to change in the next two months. I'm guessing more like $15,000 difference. A 2010 is not going to get MORE valuable. I hate to rain on the parade, but you should know what you're in for.

That will definitely help with the sales tax part of the equation. Unfortunately, if you're getting $2,000 off on the vert, the dealer probably won't be giving you more than $28,000 for the trade in September in Jersey. If you have all the numbers in writing, you should do well. If not, be prepared for a few surprises when the deal actually goes down.
