Visibility and open feel have been a constant complaint in the reviews and a constant point of discussion on Camaro6.

I just had a thought.....
Hellcat is pushing 707 hp....Ford claims their GT500 will have more than that....And here is the ZL1 sitting with a "mere" (I can't believe I just said that) 640hp. Chevy has sat back and let the others play with hp before...because our cars can put it to the ground with superior chassis tuning, and it didn't really matter beyond bragging rights. But what if they chose to play that hp game? What if the Z/28 is released with the LT4 as it's engine in excess-cooling ZL1 body, and a DSSV-esque chassis....and at the same time the ZL1 is upgraded with a more powerful new engine out of the not-yet-existant ZR1 Corvette....bigger supercharger, more power.... |

As a Guy who has a Zr1 with 740 rwhp and a 2015 Z/28 bone stock, I can tell you HP doesnt always lead to better street/strip racing. the ZR1 is a beast, I have to really watch my throttle and clutch and with the Z/28 it seems to be just about right. I think My Z/28 shines in the twisties over my Zr1, because now there is just to much HP(did I really just say that) for corners, with the 19/20 tire combo I have on. I think build a 6thgen Z/28, NA @ 600 and compete head to head with the GT350R, and than build a special edition ZL1, GT500 Killer, a 427CI SC would do just fine..

Which says GM is pricing the LT4 at $14,000.
So an SS with 6 pot brakes and an LT4 is $66,000 for a ZL1......or thereabouts

You can buy a crate LT4 for less than $13k off Jegs right now. I'm sure the Z06 has the halo tax on it, along with the LT4 price.

Doesn't the V get some structural upgrades and stuff like that over the V-Sport?

2SS (41905) + Brakes (3000) and LT4 (14,000) = 58905? Once you add in the interior upgrades, eDiff, MR, exhaust, and other changes to make the ZL1 what it is...this math could have it exceed $68-$70k starting price. I just think that's too high. |

I think jumping the ZL1 price $10k would be a mistake, unless they were clearing way for the Z/28 to slot beneath it.

If GM was able to stomach the upgrade to the LT1 in the SS models, maybe they can figure out the LT4, too.... |

Doesn't the ZL1 start as a 2SS? Didn't realize you could get one as a 1SS. Looking at the Chevy website and pricing one it seems to be a 2SS to start.
I think starting with a 1SS is not going to happen this time either. I would assume fully loaded like the current car.
