I pulled my fuses last night. I'm sure the dealer filled it with 87 octane 300 miles ago. Been running premium for the last tank or so. I even put several gallons of 100 octane in it. That should give me 191 octane, right? HA!!! Glad I don't have the compression to run that $9 / gal stuff!

I'll give you a full report in about 3 hours...

Well...I think it made a difference. I just got the SS two weeks ago so it's still new and tight. Are you sure there isn't any black cat bone and or eye of newt required in this process somewhere? I know people have dyno'd before and after so I'm going with that.

+1 that's what I do when I get bad gas...throw a bottle of octane booster in there, drive around a bit to get it mixed up, and then pull the fuses.

I just went to get some of that "Top Tier" Costco gas. I must say after the fuse pull, it'll easily light 'em up with the traction control off. Not that I want to leave too much of brand new P-Zero's in the parking lot but I'd have to say a fuse pull really works!

Just use that gas and run it low. Then fill up with 93 for a couple tank full. Then do the fuse pull. Not sure about the octane boost, havn't used it in years.

I used to live in the North East, been down South 15 years and I really got used to it. The North East has so many laws and rules that we don't have here and everyone seems to get along just fine. Up North they have restrictions on restrictions and laws on laws, I would never live there again. Get out when ever you have a chance!!! Bunch of Commie Socialists up there running stuff. I hope that Fat Jerk Christie doesn't get very far with his presidential campaign. Vote for Trump!!! He will make this country great again!!!

Wife put 87 in mine a few months ago. It's no big deal, just don't go too hard on it. As others have said, you'll be fine unless you have done a computer tune.

That law makes no sense. The NJ state legislature basically said "gas is a dangerous substance, so we're only going to let the 8th-grade-education-level station attendants pump it?"

Those tires are going to be bald in a few thousand miles anyway, might as well light em. Pzeros are useless in terms of duration.

And why the hell would you siphon out the gas? Way too much work.

That's what I would do. Just a simple fuel additive to increase the octane rating.

Put the stations name in the newspaper or on your local news. Let everyone know what they did to your car and how you should get free 93 octane gas FOR LIFE! I'm only kidding. Slightly.
In NJ (and I think Oregon) you don't get to pump your own gas. It really is a State law.

Daxal84 - in addition to staying out of WOT, do not lug your engine. Running at revs that are too low because you're in too high of a gear is as bad as WOT where it does rev freely. If you can keep most of your driving with the engine running at 2000 rpm or better, you shouldn't encounter lugging unless you're going up a steep hill (you'll want a still lower gear and its even higher revs).

Not a small side benefit to running higher revs than usual is you'll run through that tank of 80% rat pee a bit faster. Diluting with a fill-up of 93 at the half tank mark might be a good idea, but I wouldn't stop running at higher revs until that fill-up was run down to maybe 1/4 and the tank re-filled again with 93.

Hope you have better service next time you need gas on this side of the bridges. Heh . . . what most of the other guys in this thread probably don't realize is that even though us NJ-ites have to have our gas pumped for us - it's still cheaper here than in many of the places where you do pump your own (I think I paid $2.699 for 93 sometime in the last week). So maybe we get the last laugh . . .

Wawa's premium gas is only 92, FYI.

octane boost should do the trick, computer will make adjustments for octane being low, forget fuse pull.
