Resale Value
Wow, got a note from a dealer I do not even know who said they would like to buy my 2012 ZL1 for $ 39,000. So I got on Edmunds.com and appraised my Zl1 with 9500 miles in as new condition.
Value: $ 39,882 Enough said. What a surprise. |

Sure. Then they'll twist and turn the numbers and you get raped on the new car. Those guys are the mafia.

What did you pay originally? I've just got interested in owning a camaro so I'm not wise to the models or prices.

This is a common marketing gimmick dealers sometimes use no matter what car you currently own. They'll send you a notice in the mail telling you they are looking for cars like yours and will offer as much as $xxxxx.
It's a way of getting your attention and hopefully start a dialog with you that will hopefully end up in you trading it in on a new car. I get them for my 2008 Malibu at least twice a year. |

That's about right for a 2012. You'll be able to squeeze anther 3-4k possibly from a private sale. You can find '12 for $41-44K and possibly lower during winter months.

That's quite a dip, better off just keeping it.

Wish I could have found a ZL1 for $39k. Been looking everywhere (within 500 miles of me) the last few mo ths and nothing under $45k so I've decided to just have some fun with my SS for now.

No surprise. Normal depreciation, despite the dealer mark-up and the limited production number for that year.

Ah, man. I can't speak for the West coast, but the East coast they were around that. Hell I traded in my '12 ZL1 and got $44,500. A forum member bought it at his local dealer supposedly for $41-44K. He wouldn't specify how much exactly. I had over 12K+ miles.
