Whatever. Some guys that run car shows are just pricks. I had a 2.2l s10 that I used to show, it looked good but couldn't get out of its own way but I showed it everywhere...got some flack sometimes but who cares. Just keep showing

There is a $20 donation with all funds going to the fallen LEO's in St. Pete ... This will also be one of the last shows at the pier because they are getting ready to tear it down. There should be around 200 cars showing up, with a lot of them coming from the Quaker Steak meets on Thursday. The photo op's will be awesome !!!

When will people realize it has nothing to do with horsepower numbers, and everything to do with legacy and the v8 name and sound...

The guy who denied you was a jerk and shouldn't of... But the people coming to defend you on here sound just as dumb...

I'd think the "reason" is irrelevant, because he was a complete doofus for not letting yellowLS into the show.

(And please don't call other members dumb...)

Went to a NSRA meet a couple of weekends ago. A lot of the older guys are leaving because they are letting more types of cars in. Maybe you ran into one of those guys that just had an axe to grind. As for the V8/V6 thing, it was probably just an excuse. Many of the hot rods run V6s and even old 4 bangers. The meet's supposed to be about the build, not cylinders or power.

what an ass, guess tuners or lowriders weren't present either. F 'em and move on the next show..you know better. Guess dropping a big block, or twin turbo-ing it wouldn't have helped either, since his perception is shot.

Check the southeast section for updates on the show and a pre show meetup.
Thanks for the info man.

You have every right to be proud of your wonderful car and your efforts! You have worked hard to purchase one of the most desirable mainstream vehicles out there today. And a V6 with over 300hp?!? Very few cars one might pass on the roads accomplish that number - you have a beautiful, fast car.

Actually, it depends on what year you're referring to. The LT1 didn't have over 300, but when the Camaro got the LS1 in 1998 the engine was rated at 305 and it went up from there, to a stated power rating of 315 in 2001. Of course the SS's were rated from 325 to 345 depending on the SLP package, and the rwhp dyno numbers for my SS translated through to quite a bit higher than the stated 345.

Note that I'm not stating that the 5th gen V6 isn't (and wasn't) rated almost exactly the same as some of those numbers, but just addressing the incorrect statement about the stock hp of 4th gens.
