I would think a failing pump would develop lower pressure, and that would not cause fuel to get past the injectors. I would expect lean problems.

Could it be a physical leak? Since it's located in the valley maybe the leaking fuel would just end up in the oil returning to the pan.

Yes.

The internal shaft seal can fail. This causes fuel to dump into the crankcase. If you continue to run it like this it can cause bearing degradation.

This is typically caused from improper pump preload. Usually the pump is bottoming out.

I believe this is what happened.

This thread seems to mimic similar issues.

Sure does.
Yikes, that's a mess!
I would think the entire engine bay would reek of fuel.

I am pretty sure we are dealing with a similar issue on my brothers C7 Z06 that has H/C 2650 with XDI +65 and LPE HPFP. All of a sudden, the idle fuel trims are -35. No matter what I do to the MAF or VE it doesn't change. Actually, it gets worse as I try to reduce fuel and honestly it should be lean.

Yup this literally exactly the same as me. This sucks as the LPE pump is 3k. But then again the motor could have gone too...

mine had all the same issues but the intake is completely dry. Catch can was completely full of alcohol
