I agree. It is super soft. No way it could ever damage the paint. Not cheap but quality comes at a price.

I ordered the GM black cover with my new Camaro. Can you wash them? If so, will they fit in normal size home washing machine or will I have to find a big washer at a laundry mat?

My kids purchased the GM parts cover for fathers day and after several times of taking on and off I noticed I was getting light scratches. I decided to use that cover only if I needed it for outside. I purchased one from California Car Cover, a 100% cotton indoor cover. I use it all the time indoors and have noticed no scratches. When I roll it up I try and keep it on the back window glass and keep the edges laid over the top as I roll up. The paint on these are so soft they are so easy to scratch. the one I purchased was $279 but well worth it.
For CamaroMike you have your car stored on jack stands, I read this a a major no no. I read it is recommended to keep the load on the suspension for long storage periods. I purchased a set of tire ramps to keep the tires off the floor and keep from flat spotting.

Covers don't really mar up the car. What damages the car is you taking it on and off and there being a thin layer of dust and dirt on the car, and its ground in , by even the softest cover. Make sure when you put it on , it's clean, and the car is clean. I wipe the whole car down with the diluted rinseless before I put the cover. Once it's on, it never comes off again until I'm taking it off at the end of the storage period.

Hello,

+1 in the vote for a genuine GM cover; those for the 6th gen are awesome. This is the Mighty HABU taking a nap during the snow storm.

Kindest,

I have the GM indoor cover also and would highly recommend it. There are two types of GM covers--outdoor and indoor. Make sure you get the indoor version, part# 23457478 for the black cover.

Plus 1 on this don't take the tarp off and on it's the dust particles that scratch it. I go as far as Waxing it also. Well I actually use sealants now paint gaurd plus until it runs out then I may try another product glen recommends.
