All SS cars have the same cooling. There's no extra cooling package like LT cars.

This is the chevy description of that package on the 1LE:
Standard track cooling package with engine oil, differential and transmission coolers
This sounds to me like the exact same setup shown in the Mishimoto videos for the SS cooling. A bunch of passive, fluid-based heat exchangers. Nothing electric.

Thanks for the experimentation. I will look in my 2SS fuse box tonight to see if I have the relay and report back. I haven't been driving the car much as I currently have a giant dumpster partially blocking the garage for some home remodeling.

Because there is nothing to suggest an electric cooling pump exists on the 2SS.
Plus, think of the weight savings not lugging that useless relay around!

Here's this relay:

If you pull the relay and measure resistance between the hole for pin 30 or 87 and ground you should get something other than an open circuit. If resistance is infinite (open circuit) there is nothing powered by the relay.
It depends on which pin is line and which is load. If 30 is load then measuring voltage between 87 and ground should give 12-14 V.
With the car running you should get voltage of 12-14 V between the holes for pins 85 and 86

I gained 40 rwhp, and lost 2grams of weight. Honestly, it was a test, and obviously is not needed.

lol, nice. But moving it from you fuse box to your center console merely moves the weight, not remove it. pfft.

EDIT: no it doesn't. See below

One important thing I noticed-- that relay has polarity, meaning if it is installed turned 180 degrees it ain't gonna work. Not all the relays can be installed incorrectly, but the diagram shows the correct position of the notch for those relays which can be installed wrong, and K6 is one of them.
For the record, your photo shows K6 installed backwards. Mine is installed as per the diagram. Your K8 is installed correctly. All the other relays can only be inserted one way.
That's making this even more bizarre, but does seem to match the evidence this relay is not used. I'm guessing these boxes are configured somewhere else then installed at the factory. So who's the big screw up installing them on some cars but not all for the last 2 years? lol

I have to correct what I said. The 4 prong relays have the coil pins on the diagonal, so can be inserted either way. At least that's the latest I could find.
