So you reused the stock original lifters with the Comp Cam?

Of course. No need to change ls3/ls7 lifters on a 8k mile stock car. Most people don't swap lifter if they aren't removing the heads.

Plenty of people chose to keep the stock lifters when changing from factory cam, to aftermarket, with no consequences.

Yup looks like a bad cam lobe and the lifters rollers were just taking a beating from that.....IMO look at the metallurgy of the cams lobe, some have even had theirs replaced by warranty from the suppliers back in the past by returning the cam or a test of the lobe if you want a attempt to get a new core from the supplier; but a nice 8620 core and new lifters are in your future I see ..... being the friggin psychic I am ......LOL
Anyway that appears IMO to be a bad section of the cam similar to others I have seen over time.....

I put a cam in mine at 90k miles or so and reused the lifters. Had a 98 Z28 that I put a cam in at 108k miles. Probably everyone I know locally reused their old lifters.

Nothing wrong at all with reusing lifters with a hydraulic roller cam.
