What to do?
Hello all. I have a gen 5 but find myself on the camaro 6 forum WAAAAY more then over on the camaro 5 forum. Im sure you all can guess why. Anyway, Im struggling to figure out if I want to keep what I have or trade in my 2012 IOM 2SS. I've done a few minor mods, splitter, C.A.I, single chambered my muffler, and added black gills. The biggest mod I did most recently, right before the weather changed was a set of Kooks long tube headers with high flow cats. Whats bumming me out is, after having the headers installed and a tune I'm only getting 399 RWHP. From what I'm seeing here on camaro 6 is the SS getting anywhere from 405 to 415 STOCK!! and its lighter.
I love my color (wish and hope they bring it back), it has just over 5,000 miles on it and its never been in the rain. Do I bite the bullet and step up? It just seems like the gen 6 is a huge upgrade from the gen 5 without having to spend so much EXTRA money. I would think I would get a decent trade in on mine since it's practically brand new (see pics). What would you do?? By the way, she sounds sooooo beautiful since putting those headers on.

We traded my fiancées Gen 5 for a Gen 6 and would never look back. And I loved it so much I bought another one for myself. It was a hard decision but I'm glad we did it. The Gen6 is truly amazing. Hands down best generation we ever owned. and I've Owned every Generation since 86.

Bill is who I bought mine from. I've known him for a long time, been fixing his appliances for years. I didn't know they had one down there. Ive been waiting for the weather to get a bit better so I can test drive one. I have a feeling that will be what ultimately makes up my mind.

Trade up for the superior car. That's what I'd do.

The reason your car only has 5000 miles must be due to the fact that you refused to drive it in the rain! Ha!
Oregonian here. I feel your pain. Given the amount your car gets driven my advice would be to hold off a year. Get a 50 year anniversary car - it could end up being an investment if you pamper it the same as your current camaro.

^^^Get a load of the Portland person. He thinks we get a lot of rain in the Alpine Desert.
I would also go test it out and keep your ear to the ground on any rumors about the next model year. |

Doh'. Just 16.5" annually. We almost got that last December. For some reason I thought Spokane was near Olympia. Guess I should have checked a map.

First off, I love your 5th Gen. Tastefully modded, and a great color. It all comes down to you. Personally, I never "loved" either of my 5th Gens. They were great cars, but I could get rid of them or keep them, so I didn't have your predicament. When the 6th Gen came out, I waited my time to see it in person and drive it. Sold my 5th Gen the day after and absolutely LOVE this car!
