Back Seat and Trunk concerns put to rest

I know some folks myself included have been worried about the tighter back seat and smaller trunk when compared to the 5th gen. I was concerned after first test driving the car. I took my family with me yesterday when I bought my 6th gen and I wanted to post some pics my 8 yer old son and I took to help put to rest some of those concerns. He is comfortable sitting behind me with my seat fully set, but if need be I could give him and extra 1-2" and still drive the car just fine. Also I was able to fit my golf clubs and my wifes clubs at the same time. I think the trunk is deeper than the 5th gen's, which was more shallow but much wider going into the wheel wells. Hope these help...

Forgot to add I am 6' 1". My wife is 5' 4" and she fit in the back and did not hit her head. I cannot sit in the back, but in 6.5 years of owning my 5th gen I never did and only twice did I have adults in the back.

Yes, one of those small $20 booster seats you can get at Target or Walmart.

Yeah, looks like a child booster seat.

That back seat is no good for anyone over 5'5" though. My gf sat back there okay but I'm 5'9" and could not put my head up all the way even close. It was ridiculous.

Thank you sir for clearing this up with pictures! Lol I told everyone here on my little review last time that it's not that big of a deal... A kid can still fit back there...

My wife is barely 5'4" and her head was hitting the roof while sitting in the back so you're spot on.

Thanks!! How does the back seat space compare to your WS6? Also, how tall are you?

For me I will just consider the Camaro a 2 seat car. And be done with it.

I like one comment I read in a review:

" the C6 does not really have back seats per se, it's more like an upholstered shelf"

Doesn't clear things up at all other than it can work for some, which is good.

Putting your child in the back is great. Although those little legs would be crushed if I were driving. Need a corresponding pic of you not crushed against the IP, like I was which resulted in less space. Gathering from previous posts by others, if you are 5' 8" or so you can get the seat far enough forward to make some rear seat room. With me in my "comfortable" position, the rear seat was nearly touching the front. With my knees firmly into the IP, I had 3" of clearance tops.

My point is that with a Gen5 you could get 4 adults in the car in a pinch. Absolutely impossible in the Gen6 with me driving. Now let my wife drive at 5' 2" it would be workable. Or with her in the passenger seat an adult could fit behind her.

As you've done, you have to remove clubs to get them in the trunk. And somehow you managed to place them separately so the loose clubs could fit. My driver wouldn't fit in any way I tried when I pulled it from the bag.

In the picture with your wife's clubs in the trunk, is the seat up or down?

And yes, you can get a lot in there with the seat down but I don't want to drive around with the noise of the trunk with the rear seat down. It's just a hatch at that point.

But clearly it is workable..................just less than the Gen5 by a bunch.

It took my video years ago putting two bags in the Gen5 trunk with a CTF car to get people to believe and even then there were skeptics.

I'll try the clubs again, but I just couldn't get it to work with my small carry bag unless I either put the seat down or removed the driver and 3 wood and then those wouldn't fit.

Thanks for posting. More to think about. I can live with the rear seat room.............need 2 sets of the clubs in the trunk with the seat up to be my DD.

It's funny for how many people the golf club test is a complete show stopper..
Have a friend looking for a new Vette and that was his number one concern over everything else. Price, engine, trim package, color.. Nope.
Golf clubs.

Bottom-line is that the C6 Camaro is a two-seater and I'm okay with that. It never was a family car and I don't think Chevrolet ever said it was. That shouldn't stop anyone who wants a new Camaro from getting one.
