Yup they are MY specific as there small bus changes almost every year on the MOST bus. Parts catalog also reflects this

Probably some kind of provision in the circuit to protect from tampering and rewinding the odometer somehow. If it's not programmed to the VIN of the car before it is installed it may be bricked by the ECM.

On a side note to that, I ran the CarFax on a the car I owned two cars ago just for fun, a Honda Prelude from 1999-2009. I sold it with 225,000 on the odometer. Someone flipped the odometer back to 128,300 in the last 8 years!

I really appreciate you saving me some wasted cash. So a virgin gauge cluster still has to be programmed as well i assume?

Yup! If it wasn’t made for your exact vin it’ll require retrofit programming.

I wish they would have gone with a fully digital cluster setup. I hate having the speedo and tach analog gauges in there. It's the biggest thing i hate about my current cluster and it's still in the SS. Meh.

Junito,
The mylink wiring is it part of the main harness or a plug in to the main harness?
I have not had the chance to get my hands on a service manual just yet lol.

Thanks
Sean

They won't just got a reply back from a GM dealership. asking that very question. Not unless it's the same one that was in it before.

Correct. Dealers cant do this (and basically any other custom programming) hence why we do it for dealers/upfitters/shops/consumers all over the world.
