Tire Life for the Stock SS Tires

My 2016 2SS has the Goodyear EagleF1 Asymmetric 3 ROF – Summer Tires (245/40ZR20 Front, 275/35ZR20 Rear). I was talking to one of the service managers at a local dealership and he told me they last about 15k miles.

I was wondering if anyone out there has hit that many miles yet in their 2016, and what type of life they are getting on their stock tires, assuming regular use (not on the track & not doing burn outs).

Tire life = first nail. I can almost guarantee the nail will come before 15k miles.

Haha, I guess that depends where you live... but true story, I only have 500 mi on my car and I already got a nail in one of mine, and of course it was in the solid part of the run flat so I needed a new tire, but that's because they were doing construction at my building and I made them pay for a new one so it all worked out.

They won't get much more then 15-20k miles. They're rated at 240 tread life or so? I went with an all season tire with a tread life over 500. Way more practical.

I measured 6/32 (10/32 is a fresh set), with 5k and two hours on track (beat the snot out of them in 20 minute sessions).

Got two screws at around 7000. Got 11,000+ now and they don't look like they can take much more. Hope the new wheels get here soon.

You do live in N.D. so I can imagine getting tires over there is a pain in the ass.

I'll never run all-seasons again on a performance car. Summer tires for Spring/Summer/Fall and Winter tires for Winter.

Why are you guys having to replace your tires due to nails? I got one in mine and drove to Discount Tire. They did a patch/plug and sent me on my way for free. They assured me it's approved for the goodyear runflats. That was 3 or 4 months ago and I've had zero issues. I was on vacation and drove good 10 miles with the flat to find a gas station with a working air station and then another 50 miles home because the tire shop was closed on Sunday. The tire still seems perfect.

I went to a Goodyear store to check my options when I had the Screw... No go on fixing it. Not allowed.

I tried to get mine patched too, but the screw was in the solid rubber part of the run flat so there was nothing to repair, so my option was to leave the screw in there or replace the whole tire. Since I knew it was from a construction site that refused to clean up after themselves, I decided I wanted a new tire and I wanted them to pay for it.

I don't go on the track so I was considering getting the all seasons next once these wear out - maybe even a non-run flat type and then getting an immobilization kit with the slime and the air pump. I hear the all seasons have a 45 or 50k mi warranty!
