E85 QUESTION
Does anyone have any info on the hoses and o-rings in the fuel system being rated to handle e-85? The thought of running it and not having the system designed to run it gives me pause.
Thanks for any input you guys may have. |

Fuel systems adjust based on a lot of different factors when driving the car. That's the reason why you have to get the car tuned, but once it is tuned, it can handle the additional fuel no problem. Many many people have been running it for a while. Including myself ;D

My brother has been running it for 2yrs in his 96 Z28. Stock fuel lines & tank, aftermarket injectors and pump...no issues.

Yep every gas station will say on pumps how much % of ethanol is in the fuel...
I’m going to have mine tuned with e85 mix I’ll let you know what kind of improvement it will show... I don’t daily drive my ZL1 but drive it enough to have fun... with it freezing now I’m not going to use it until spring...

I'm sure the car is badass, but that's just not going to do it for me.

"why dont you look it up. cars have been using ethanol safe components since the 90s. PTFE" - As was already stated, the best thing for you to do is research for yourself and if you find contradicting facts, post them here. What you are doing here is pretty much a waste of time.

I would say it's fairly badass if he keeps it around even though he has a 2016 C7 Z06 and a 2016 Challenger Scat Pack.

Many people run it. No one has issues. Do you want the 10% hp bump or not? If this kind of thing keeps you up at night you should probably keep your car stock.

I'll do E85 after more time. After more time it will take for things to bubble up. After time it will take for my warranty to be toast. I've been a victim of ethanol so I may be a bit jaded. My experience was with standard "gasoline" (up to 10%) ethanol not E85. Yeah, ethanol rots shit. BIG TIME. It rots the F out of materials not intended for it. If all aspects of this car was made for it, great. If so given the world we are in, then why wouldn't they say so in the marketing materials so that all of the semi-fat and full on fat soy boys would feel even more hard over the car they are looking to buy? I want to believe that E85 is trouble free. Why don't they just make every car "flex fuel?"
