Anything past about E60 isn’t doing much for a NA vehicle.
So the car will take the same timing at 60% that it would at 90%? No difference in detonation resistance?

You could probably squeeze a few more horsepower out of it but they are diminishing returns for the reliability you might lose.

The reality is that most NA setups are not octane limited, so getting a crazy high ethanol content isn’t really important.

The shop that did my tune has said the same thing. They see most of the gains on a N/A car by around E60, from E60 to E85 they only see a minimal amount of gains.

They said where E85 helps is on forced induction where they still see gains up to the E85 point.

Yes. Especially '17 and up. You can remove the sensor, sure, but 17 and above you can't remove the flash counter

I heard that the SCT tune does not increase the flash count. But I did not know I could reset or remove it on a 16, please tell me the secret. I have a HP tuner.

Actually the "flash counter" is in all 5th and 6th Gen - well kinda. The ECM does include a keystroke logger. If you flash the ECM the keystroke logger is reset. Be kinda hard to explain the miles with so few start cycles. Least I think thatis true.

The 3.6L HFV6 that is used in the Camaro is similar to, though not the same as, the 3.6L HFV6 that is used in a great number of GM FWD vehicles. Many, probably most, of the FWD vehicles are engineered for E85. It provides very cheap CAFE credits for GM. So it is likely that any FWD 3.6L V6 has all the valves and seats hardened for potential E85 use, whether the car it goes into is engineered for E85 or not. Fewer part numbers in the factory that builds the engines.

Since the Camaro and Chevrolet Colorado / GMC Canyon are the only vehicles using the RWD 3.6 and since neither is engineered for E85, it is likely that the valves and seals were never engineered to be hardened for E85 use. Not sure if the injectors for the RWD 3.6L are up to flow rates for E85. If the same injectors can be used as are used on the FWD engines, then probably so. If not the same injectors, then they probably are not. That would explain why Gen 5 V6 Camaros would have problems using E85. But, if that is the case, it is likely that Gen 6 Camaros would also experience problems using E85. I don't recall hearing of such.

Interesting. In Michigan, E85 is typically priced LOWER than 87 octane. Like 15 - 20% lower.
