Oil is oil...change it in regular service intervals and you will be fine.

^ I gotta agree for the most part. I've only seen true engine issues when customers don't change their oil, like it was due at 10,000 miles and they changed it at 23,000 miles. You can cause yourself a mental breakdown if you read some of the threads on Bob is the oil guy or any other car site where they talk about oil lab analysis.

Not a fan of Amsoil, but some people love it. Pennzoil platinum is as good as Mobil 1.

Holy crap!!!!! That's an insane price. I paid $150 for 3x 5 qts just at the end of last year.

I just ordered 6 jugs.

I run Amsoil. Depending what I am doing I will switch the weights. My valve train is so much quieter since I switched. It made an audible difference. I am a huge believer in their products. Blackstone results would tend to agree with my sentiments.

I have run it in everything from go carts, full blown race cars, drag boats, Hotrods and streetcars. Stuff just works.

Funny story plug for Amsoil.... When I ran quarter midgets as a kid the motor was designed to pick up oil from the crank case and splash it on the crank. I think it was called Trough Oiling type system. Anyway, we used to run the oil level so low, it would barely have any resistance as it went to pick up the oil. Got another 2-3 hundred RPM out of it. We constantly got impounded for inspection and they could never find anything because, well, there was nothing illegal about it. My old man was a pretty clever cat. Its a resistance game.Never had an engine failure and the motors never let up. It will definitely take some abuse. I swear by the stuff.

For an NA engine without known oil issues, oil is oil. Use the proper type, change at proper intervals and you'll be fine. There's no complication here. At least no reason to use multi-level marketing type oil products. Use what's required as it's required. No hay drama.

I use amsoil since I personally think it's the best oil for my car. I'm sure Mobil 1 and other brands are just as good. For a DD oil it doesn't really matter what you use.
