Got my car dyno tuned with Kong x-porting
Mods include regular roto fab, 103 throttle body, Kong x-port, 2.3” upper pulley, 1 7/8” headers. Made 644/614 at the wheel. Boost went from 8psi at 2.5k rpm to 14.7 at 6.5k rpm. Is this a function of the x-port work? I thought these blowers typically produce a flat boost curve? I have no baseline pull. A stock, manual zl1 produced 540whp on this dyno, I’m told. My car is an auto.

How much timing? I have similar mods with the addition of full E85. We managed 26.5* of timing. No dyno numbers tho, but the car is a brute.

I forgot to ask about the timing. This was on 93 octane. Running e85 would be killer. What did you have to do to be able to run it?

Couple things I see wrong with this build. The 2.3 upper pulley isn't spinning the blower fast enough to take advantage of the Kong X-port. Also the 1 7/8" header are giving up some power.

TBH X-port is really only used on full tilt builds. Heads, cam etc. The dyno was in STD, your making 644, which is around 620whp SAE. With that upper pulley and the standard port i bet your whp results would be the same. 620 is very common with a 103/ported blower and a 2.3 upper. Your not going to take advantage of the x-port on your other current mods tbh.

For reference I have practically the same mods, except I have the standard Kong port, and 2" headers, making 697whp on 93 octane. That being said, each dyno is different and I don't like comparing numbers from one dyno to the other. |

Higher the rpm, more air, more boost pressure. So yes its going to scale exactly the same as any other blower, regardless of whats been done to it.

I would say the X port is working...making almost 15psi peak on a 2.3 with stock lower is quite a bit of boost. My brother just swapped a standard port w/ 2.17 pulley on his ZL1 and it's showing about a psi less then yours. The boost curve is flatter as well. It hits 12psi instantly from 3500rpm and builds to upper 13's by 6300rpm...and that is in cold air. Looks like you traded some bottom end for top end...which isn't a bad thing. I agree with above that it looks pretty rich...
