Are you planning anything to break-in you Camaro faster?
Are you planning anything to break-in you Camaro faster than just your daily commute would take to consume 1500 miles?
My daily mileage is only about 3 miles. I'm thinking I would do 10-15 extra miles a day just to get the 1500 miles over with! |

I'll absolutely be taking long route to work, and then home. Probably some long Sat / Sun drives with Wifey and the pups. Hopefully with the top down!

I may utilize Becky's fly in drive home - that'll put 1000 miles on it in two days.

How often would you change speed. I think you need to change it up often rather than a cruise control type situation. May just have to speed to hit the next patch of traffic as quickly as possible so you can slow down again

I will already be driving 500+ miles from the day I pick up the vehicle and go home as I live in wichita and picking up my car from TX. So that'll speed things up lol. Highway driving is gonna be interesting as you aren't suppose to go at a fixed rpm/speed, so I will be driving quite weird lol. |

Does it run synthetic oil in the break-in period?
I thought you should run natural oil during break-in then synthetic. I also think I would change it at 1000 (non-synthetic) and again at 1500 (synthetic). What happened to drive it like you stole it day one? |

You can all do whatever you want because it's your cars, but here's how I will do mine and it's what I'd advise you all follow:
First 200 miles let the tires wear in, so don't make quick maneuvers, quick braking, or hard acceleration. First 1500 miles, easy acceleration, drive at or near speed limits, avoid cruise control so the engine doesn't run at a constant speed too long. As for the oil change/maintenance indicator, I would let it go until 0% before my first oil change. I know there are many of you who insist on changing it within 500 miles because of "shavings" or other nonsense, but if there's any special lubricant applied to the parts at Tonowanda, you want that lubricant in the engine as long as possible for the seals, rings, and gaskets. Other manufacturers implore you to keep the factory oil in until the first oil change indicator comes up, even if it's 7000 miles. Maybe GM doesn't, but unless the owners manual states you should change the oil early, I will wait until the first indicator. |

I'm almost sure that if the Camaro requires a break-in period it's only 500 miles. I also don't believe that you'll hurt the LT1 if you drive it like you stole it from day one. The new car warranty covers bumper to bumper. Period.

Depends on the dealer, if they hook you up to a computer and read ALL of your info from the date you got the car they COULD claim intentional neglect. There are some scenarios you gotta think about. Why mess up a new car and chance voiding a warranty just because you wanna stomp the pedal before the break-in is over with....I won't be
