Exhaust Question
I have a 2012 ss with the l99 engine. The car is completely stock. Prior to this car, I had a 2011 mustang gt with Roush axle back mufflers. I loved the volume and tone of the exhaust from the mustang and am looking to repeat something similar with the Camaro. I just do not really know what sort of modifications would be required in order to give similar volume and tone. Yes, I am aware of the AFM of the Camaro, but I rarely hear it kicking in more than once or twice daily during my commute. The car is still under waranty for now, so I would prefer not to perform any mods that might jeopardize that, especially given that I have had it in the shop during my first few months of ownership. Any advice would be appreciated.

I would say go with the solo axle back or whole catback.

Go on Youtube and check out sounds for Borla and the Flowmaster setups.

Yeah, you'll need to browse around here and YouTube to get ideas. Bear in mind, the engines are two totally different breeds. The sound of the small block LS motor is only going to change so much. Good luck. Oh, and if I were you, I'd get rid if that nasty L99 resonator....it really tends to kill the sound.

Solo Mach XL catback will solve your problems. Still not loud enough? When you don't have to worry about a warranty get long tube headers.

Retro chamber exhaust
X2 for retro chamber!
I have long tube with cat deletes going into the swing retro chamber exhaust. It's a beautiful sound. Deep rumble, no drone just exhaust. Compliments will come daily and every time you fill up the tank lol |
