You guys are killing me lol
I picked up my ZL1 about 6-8 weeks ago and my plans were to just keep it stock. But all these mod threads make me really want to start tinkering with it. I have a Duramax truck that I have done a lot of work to and it's running about 500hp and 1000 ft/lbs of tq. I love the power and enjoy modding a vehicle but my plan was to just enjoy driving the car. ugh now I have the itch to make it a beast

It already is a beast.

My wife feels the same way. She just can't understand why I can't just drive the car as is and enjoy it. My response was. I don't want to get beat by a Ford!

It really depends on whether you can live with paying for an engine mishap out of your own pocket. If you do pulleys and tune your warranty goes away. If you're good with that, mod away! I'm sticking to a Rotofab CAI for now and JBA catless mids. I did the Rotofab yesterday and there is a definite seat of the pants difference and you can actually hear the blower whine when you're getting on it.

Know exactly what you mean. Took me ten months to pull the trigger on performance mods. Still haven't done anything major, just intake and headers.

We do have a major advantage to modding in that our motors are built for boost. So a little more isn't stressing them too bad at all. It's just that anything can happen and if you aren't willing to pony up for the "shit happens" moments, you shouldn't do more than intake/exhaust and leave the tune alone. I've heard you can buy a separate ECU to tune, but that's shady in my opinion.
