Above is a part that fell of during an oil change and i cant seem to find any location as to where it goes. There are numbers on it that i would assume would be a tracer to its location or at least role it plays on being attatched to the vehicle. The part came off behind front driver tire the bottom fender region. The dealers can not seem to trace its origin as the numbers stampped only register to a part internal inside the engine which to me doesnt make sense (so much for certified chevy mechanics ) Any help is much appreciated as i am lost.

I know this piece. I had the plastic wheel well off early after I purchased my car. That, my friend is a spacer/insulator that fits between the fender and the bracing behind it to give a small amount of support behind the fender to prevent what some body men call "tin canning." The bend closest to your little finger on the second pic, goes up against the sharpest bend of the fender where it goes from horizontal to vertical. If you found it near the bottom of the fender, it would be because it fell from its upper position. If you remove enough of the fasteners in the wheel well, you'll be able to see where it fits vertically. (long edge against the inside of the fender.)
Hope that helps.

Happened to mine also. Took it back to the dealer(under warranty) and they fixed.
Mine was on the drivers side. They removed the tire. Removed screws from the inner fender plastic liner and pulled it back. Inserted the piece a the top of the fender, by were it meets with the door.
Hope this helps

I've had both fender liners out a few times. I've never seen that piece.

The part goes at the front of the front quarter panel right before the front bumper fascia. It's called a front Insulater. There is one on each quarter panel at the front end by the bumper. It's 18.59 MSRP.

It is NOT the one by the door, that one is much longer and thinner

The part number is written right on the part, if your dealer can't find the part I hate to say it but they are just incompetent. Find a new dealer.

Also, you'll find it goes just about straight up from the C (in CAMARO on the fender) which is slightly closer toward the door, not the fascia.
