I FOUND MY CAR!

Simply superimpose the word car over ark. Then change Indiana Jones to me.

There you have it! Voila!

Brett,

Thanks for the kind words.

Big wind and big water all week and semi stressed on this whole car thing. I think that I came home a little grumpy on Friday night. She sat me down, put her arms around me and reminded me how fortunate that we truly are. Sometimes it's hard to fathom why they put up with us. I'm definitely blessed to have a good woman at my side.

The ZLE will be here sooner or later, and I am a patient man.

TMI? Sorry for the rant.

I hope to take you up on that drink one day my friend.

Alan

I don't think patient man and rant go together. Have you seen any other Camaros like yours on the road? If you haven't at least you'll know you have a special one.

Thanks for checking in Baldman. You have to admit, my rants are pretty mellow.

There are a lot of SS and LT coupes and verts in the rental fleets here. Not that many are privately owned on the roads. There are only a couple of 6th and 5th gen ZL1's around. There are tons of Vettes and exotics here. My dealer thinks that it will be the only ZLE in the state. A definite level of exclusivity... but she would be special to me even if there were 100 on my street.

Mellow would be an understatement,
and everyone on this forum is pulling for you.

But in the end,
You’ll be doing Saturday night cruzing with a big ole smile on your face

Just curious,
What does your dealer say about the delay?

Hey Frisbey, Thank you for your words of encouragement.

My dealer is unable to give me a definitive answer. Chevrolet Customer Experience has been concerned and helpful, but nothing definitive there either.

If winter would just loosen her grip a bit, I think that things will get moving. Could be logistics, perhaps GM is waiting to put enough cars on the boat to make it worthwhile. Maybe all of the above.

I'm just trying to remain positive at this point. Trying to keep things like damage or other issues out of my head. closs2sx's car was pretty banged up when it was delivered to his dealer. I'm not sure how I would react to that after the prolonged wait.

Anyway...How is your car progressing? PPF done? Delivery estimates? Keep us posted.

Alan,
I’m betting shipping is the delay,
Hawaii would be the most expensive shipping they do, so makes sense they would ship as manny as possible at one time.

Regards to my ZL1,
It was delivered to BeckyD last week

The delay is now mine, my wife and I are on a vacation to Arizona for 2 more weeks, so I’m having Becky tint the windows and install EXPEL to the key area’s of the car, before they ship in in enclosed carrier to me.

But I do have a few pics from Becky

Will post more when it’s home!
Dave

Who doesn't love their vacation??? Enjoy! I'll bet seeing those pics makes you wish that it would speed up, just a tiny bit.

I have been in you shoes many times with GM during the ordering process having ordered my car many months before people that were having their cars delivered that had just ordered them 4 weeks prior. The allocation system GM uses at best sucks in terms of customer service. Even worse in your case your car has been sitting for almost 6 weeks built waiting to be shipped. When I ordered my 1st zl1 1le I fully expected the same situation (the long wait I normally get do to the small dealer and rural area of NH I live in) But it was built and delivered albeit damaged in just under 8 weeks ( a world record for me on a gm order ( I can Order an Audi or BMW from Germany faster than I can a gm vehicle usually) There is no excuse for your car to sit that long waiting to be shipped. (there I ranted for you lol)
Having said that I have learned to admire your patience and have learned to be more patient myself as I wait for car # 2.
You will be like a kid at Christmas and I can't wait to see pics of your car in your hands.
Hang in there my Friend

Thanks Brett,

Your concern and your opinions definitely help to ease the pain.

It looks like I've moved from 4B00 bayed to 4D00 logistical hold according to Chevy Customer experience. Maybe the wheels will begin to turn when the weather lets up.

Cheers,
Alan

Watched some shiny new Chevys, Caddys (1 CTS and 1 ATS, Lansing assembled) and GMCs roll off of the ship this morning. No Vettes or other truck only delivered low clearance vehicles. Rail must be moving a little better now. I don't think that mine will make the 4/18 boat, maybe the 5/02 departure. Keeping my fingers crossed.

Nearly 11 months and counting.....

The unfortunate news; Thursday makes 11 months since I originally ordered the car.

The good news; With help from Chevrolet Customer Experience, my dealer and just shy of a sh*t load of legwork and research by me and some great friends (you know who you arethanks a ton), My car should be moving very soon.

After a carrier ride, most likely she'll find passage on the 5/2 RoRo from San Diego. After an offload in Honolulu she will arrive here in Kahului on 5/9. Bonus... I have port clearance (TWIC and MARSEC) so my dealer invited me to join him to pick her up from port.

The blessing in disguise is that the delay in my delivery will have kept her off of the road in what has proved to be an extremely vicious North American winter. Everything happens for a reason, I suppose.

The saga continues...Perhaps a happy ending ensues.

Alan,
That’s GREAT news !
We’ve all been watching the progress and pulling for you!
Sounds like your dealer is a stand up guy!
I know I’ve been burning up palls app almost daily, I’m assuming others have as well.
Thanks for the update.
Dave
