Issue on bypass actuator of Whipple.
Good morning.
I am using Whipple SC for Camaro SS 2016. It works pretty well, but recently have a trouble on the bypass actuator. It doesn't open fully at the idle, seems half opened and stuck. I can hear the sound of sucking from the actuator. At that time, the boost guage shows 12~14 inHG. If I force little bit with finger, it opens fully. The sound is gone and the guage shows 18~20inHG, back to the normal. What should I do? |

Have you determined if it's the actuator or the shaft and butterfly??
There was a issue with the bypass with another member. He cleaned/lubed and readjusted everything, NO problem hear of since

If i'm not mistaken I think Brett was referencing Whipple.

NO, They know something is wrong with your actuator, why not just give you the part number, or send you a one. Your's is a new SC. Sorry for the misunderstanding.
If you run into a problem, I have a spare.

Actuators are typically damaged from someone moving them by hand, as the rubber gets twisted inside. It can be fixed but one must be careful. |
