RPI Painted Rock Guards?
Hi all,
I just bought a new set of wheels and tires for my '10 SS and am going with a 275 up front and a 315 in the back... so I'm going to grab some rock guards to avoid sand-blasting my gills and rear bumper. >_< I've been trying to find a stealth set. My car is white, and I don't really want to have an obviously unpainted trim piece if I can help it. I found these: https://www.rpidesigns.com/shop/item...yABEgIazfD_BwE I can't find ANY pictures of them on cars, and when I called RPI they were not very helpful... They just told me that the only pics they have are the ones on their website. Well, the ONE on their website is a yellow set, from far away, not on a car. The last time I bought a painted bow-tie from them, I also wasn't super happy and their customer service wasn't much help. I'll pull the trigger on the ZL1 addons ones if I can't find a picture of these, but was really hoping to find more info. The GM painted set is not available in white, and is now hard to come by. I'm also not crazy about the blockier look... Any insights are helpful! Thanks, Mike

I think those would look pretty terrible when painted. They are a plastic and are meant to get hit with rocks.
I have the ZL1 rears with the RPI stealth fronts, black and unpainted on my car and I think that combo looks great.

Those RPI ones look aweful painted. I would go with the ZL1 addons ones, I saw a brand new set for sale yesterday still in the bags in the for sale section, ZL1 parts. I'll see if I can find them again..

DroptopZ,
I have these on my car and I love them. I hardly have any debris kicked up anymore. So I ordered the ones you are looking at and I wanted them painted Bright Yellow. Now here's the issues that RPI has been having. Their customer service seems to have gone down hill. I'll try to explain this as simple as I can because they have no instructions. First, one side gets painted the color you want, white and the back(the side that would show in the wheel well) should be painted flat black. I will attach the best pictures I have so you can make the call but I love mine and they have stopped rocks hitting my paint. Pay the extra 20 bucks for the premium ones so that should be about 99 bucks painted. After you install them, the white side will be facing back and the flat black will be in the wheel wells. Here's where you have to do a bit of work. Get a small bottle of flat black paint IN A JAR. When they paint the color, they paint the lips of the guards. It's great until you look in the wheel well and where the guard meets the well, the color sticks out like a sore thumb. Just take a small paint brush and paint the lip inside he well and stop just as it peeks out from the well. I still have some touch up to get closer but as you can see, that lip disappears after you paint the lip. I hope these pictures help. If worse comes to worse, I will get the ZL1 Addons or anything because it's a must in my opinion to have guards if the wheels are kicking up debris.

May the "mod" force be with us!!! lol. I can sense it!! Don't go any lower than 1.25 like I am and you won't have any suspension issues like some folks had.

Those look great and yup, those are the OEM ones. When I first started looking, GM either discontinued them or if I found them somewhere else, they weren't Bright Yellow. It would have been a tough choice for me. Love the red.
