I'm a GM guy, and an F-car guy. I hate the Mustang.
But damn, they finally have a great car. LT5 for Camaro please! It's our duty! Quote:

Meh. I like the Z better from virtually all angles. The bubble top on the 500 bothers me. I remain interested in the performance numbers...perhaps my interest will be piqued again upon release.

No.
Besides, if you're constantly chasing HP...you'll never be happy. I get that's the game though...In any event, the ZL1, and the entire Camaro range for that matter, has a driving dynamic they'll just never be able to duplicate - it's that good. |

Always been a GM guy for my "muscle car fix", so while this new Mustang may tempt some, I think our Camaro's have better styling. If it's about HP, at what point do you have enough HP for the street?
I am running almost 700 crank hp and it is plenty enough, listen to the video. No, I don't need a new Mustang.

Agree, no track mode means the handling will probably suck and the car will only be good at the drag strip or doing freeway pulls. Also as everyone mentioned the highly likely 100k sticker is a big turn off. Still will be a sweet looking car but not enough overall performance in my opinion to make it worth the price tag. Can't beat the Camaro when it comes to getting the most bang for your buck! |

Let's not get too caught up in the Camaro "bang for your buck" mentality; it's not cheap in its segment as of now, and puts up performance the likes of $200,000+ cars. While that is a lot of bang for the buck, I don't like to see a car cheapened for what it is. It's a great car, it costs the part (American, decent build quality, muscle car).
As for the GT500, never. Though it may initially outperform the other cars in the class, I could never buy a Ford, and their brand notoriously makes garbage, though marketed otherwise. For those that it works out for, good on you. But for me, I couldn't do it. And for goodness sake please come up with a better design than a GT350 with some aero bits... I'll admit at the drop of a hat that I'm biased towards the brands I like. But those biases usually line up with the better vehicle, luckily for me. |

Amazing how your "leaked Ford illustration" clearly doesn't say "GT500" on the fender badge, but "GT350" (the last character is clearly a zero; the middle character is clearly not a zero).

Not photoshopped? I say bogus! The twinkle above the cobra at the front of the hood is a dead giveaway. The whole shot looks photoshopped and made up. |

Coming from a GT350 and knowing just how much more I like my 1LE over that car I'd have to say not a chance... I don't care if it has more power "which I'm sure it will" as each year they have to up their game that much more I still won't go for it again. The GM performance cars I've learned have much more to offer even in the highest trim level over the Ford and FC offerings for me at least. And I was a hard core Ford only guy up until about a month ago!!! Trucks on the other hand are a different story.

Absolutely. I have been interested in the GT500 even prior to purchasing my 2017 ZL1. Don't get me wrong - the ZL1 is an absolute beast and will mop the floor with just about any car on the road...but I think Ford is going to lay down the hammer with the new GT500

I guess that's my biggest issue now after loosing so much money on my GT350 in a years time. And the value just keeps getting lower and lower as they release more of them into the wild. The dealers are laughing all the way to the bank...
