GM Reveals 2016 Chevrolet Silverado
2016 Silverado: The New Face of Strong
General Motors July 13, 2015
DETROIT – Chevy Trucks are on a roll, with Chevrolet pickup sales up 32 percent so far this year. Chevrolet intends to strengthen this momentum with significant updates for the 2016 Silverado 1500 full-size pickup. “The redesigned 2016 Silverado will build on Chevy Trucks’ legacy of dependability. It will feature a more muscular appearance and offer new customer-focused technologies,” said Sandor Piszar, marketing director for Chevy Trucks. “New front end designs with bold horizontal elements, sculpted hoods and dramatic lighting reflect the strength and refinement that have helped make Silverado the fastest growing full-size pickup brand this year.” Other changes for 2016 will include expanded use of 8-speed automatic transmissions, updated Chevy MyLink with support for Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, and additional safety technologies. The redesign of the 2016 Silverado 1500 is part of an aggressive strategy to build on Chevy Trucks’ momentum. Since the introduction of the all-new Silverado 1500 in the spring of 2013, Silverado sales have grown by double digits, on a percentage basis, each year. Through June of this year, Silverado sales are up 14.6 percent. Chevrolet also sold 41,575 midsize Colorados during the same period. More product details will be available this fall, closer to the public debut of the redesigned 2016 Silverado 1500.

I like the update. It looks good. However, I am still waiting on this guy. A sport truck is not even that controversial but GM needs to get ballsy like Chrysler and actually build the insane ideas they come up with. I don't even need the carbon fiber bed, just give us a short/wide with some serious power, lower stance, low gearing, and some sporty styling. Keep it around $40k and you have a hit.

Is it just me or are all full size truck designs almost becoming a cartoon parody of themselves with their styling?

Why so fast for a refresh Fen? 2 years seems pretty damn quick especially for a truck IMO.
Either way, love what I am seeing. The 16 facelift IMO looks 1000 times better than the current truck |

Looks a bit to much like the Sierra now IMO. Nothing wrong with that at all but seems like a shocker to drop another front end so quickly.

Full size trucks is a very profitable and therefor highly competitive segment in the US. I would assume that they want to keep things fresh with the new F150 just rolling out.

I like it, although I'd like to see some more front end ground clearance on a Z71.

There's a specialty company making these. Exact body kit, wheels, stance, etc. They start off with a standard cab/bed work truck give it the cosmetic treatment and do minor bolt ons with a tune. The dealership around the corner has one and the price is $54,000. I laughed all the way home when I saw the price. Here's a link to their website. http://www.scaperformance.com/on-road-performance/
