With the price difference between gas and diesel right I think it will be a tough sell. I know I'm wishing some of the trucks in my fleet weren't diesel right now. Also does the payload go down with the diesel as with other trucks?

Should be a great ride! A bit expensive, but not horrible considering the extras you get.
Was really hoping for MPG announcement.

Well, it is a turbo diesel, so there's some extra cooling, it has an iron block, special EGT and particulate collection system, special torque converter and a few other things. In all it seems to be a pretty fair price. I assume they limited it to the higher trims so the bump in price wouldn't be as noticeable.

Diesels always carry a higher/premium price tag. Check around. Most are a 4-6K option.

Gas and diesel are priced about the same here in AZ. Payload ratings and fuel economy increase when you switch to diesel. That's one of many reasons they're such good engines.

here in IL gas and diesel flip flop so often its hard to gauge it. I remember earlier this year when gas was say like 2.90 a gallon and diesel was like 3.45 now 87 is like 2.75 and diesel is 2.55

Great move by GM for going Diesel. I have a 1500 Dodge Ecodiesel 4x4 and the performance and fuel mileage are great. Considering I presently see 28-hwy, and 25-city, this Colorado should easily be north of 30-mpg.

Very happy they made it.
Very sad I can't afford it. Can't wait to see what performance increases it holds and real world performance.
