It's official....the white SS is at home in the driveway....Barbara already programmed her radio stations. Now me being the caring husband, I'll drive it for a few days to be sure it is safe to turn her loose in...

The first thing I looked for was how to turn off the traction control....

Hey,

We're leaving at about 8am - but it's a show that we had to register for already through a guy Mark put us in touch with - and you've missed the cut off for registering I think :(

Did you get my message the other day about detailing by the way?

Traction control
Now there are 4 modes of controlling them to the car, activated by a button by the shifter: Everything on: this is how it is EVERY TIME YOU START THE CAR. I suggest using this until you are familiar with the car.

Traction control off, StabiliTrac ON: This is activated by one press of the button. This will allow you to do a nice big burnout in a straight line but, cover your ass if you start to slide in a corner. One light on the dash will light up... looks like tire with TC in it and line through it.

Competition mode: this is activated by 2 little blips of the button... tap tap. This leave TC on turns the ST off... This would be used in road racing (not to be confused with stupid street racing... like road course competitive events). I NEVER use this. It will tell you in the DIC when its on and have a little light with a car with skid marks.

EVERYTHING OFF: this is activated by holding the button for 7 seconds. It is not for the faint of heart. The car will hurt you in this mode if you don't respect it. This is the mode I use ALL THE TIME. My car runs MUCH better in this mode. It combines both lights.

Welcome to Camaro5!

Loved the photo of the car on the way home you posted on facebook by the way.

Might want to leave that traction control on until the rain has left mind you!

It wasn't me. My car is in the paint shop getting some minor things fixed.

But...if it looked anything like mine, it's making me wonder....

Welcome BaileyOFD and congratulations to you and Barbara on the newest acquisition.
Remember those tires aren't cheap. Have fun

I'm thinking the tires on the 69 are a little pricier than the ones on the 5th gen...especially with Jeff driving...lol

I've road raced in the rain with the SCCA at Daytona, Sebring, and Road Atlanta....but wet street conditions are a recipe for disaster....I'll wait for dry conditions before the traction control button gets "double tapped".

First lesson was do not roll down the drivers window until the water on the roof has had a chance to run off.....I got soaked... LOL !
