In that same scenario, while I was divorced I could still celebrate my 11th-15th anniversaries by myself (or with my ex, if we split on equitable terms). Because its still X years since I/we got married.

Here is another scenario ... just the other day, Americans celebrated the 239th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence. Have people been signing it every year since 1776? Or did it happen only once, and thus each year that passes is one more anniversary? Also, if that document were somehow destroyed, would that mean that nobody is allowed to have a 4th of July celebration? Or that the counter would be reset when a new replacement comes along? No, because everything is based around what happened the first time around. Everything that happened since is irrelevant.

The second example, nothing has ever stopped Americans from celebrating. America has never ceased to exist. The Camaro was non existent for 7 years. That is where I have the issue.

Lets say you work for company A for 25 years. You leave start your own company B for 5 years it doesn't work and you return to Company A after those 5 years. Are you going to celebrate your 30th anniversary with Company A? Are you celebrating 30 years with Company A?

Hell lets say in a few years Pontiac comes back from the dead, can the 2026 Models wear 100 year anniversary badges for Pontiac?

IMO the anniversary of a date is different than say the anniversary of a cars production, a marriage or years worked for a company because something can stop those from happening.

Camaro never ceased to exist either. people were driving Camaro's since 1967. Not one year went by when I've not seen a Camaro on the road.

just like the 45th anniversary edition wasn't celebrating 45 years of consecutive production. it was celebrating 45 years since it's inception.

Are you going to celebrate your 30th anniversary with Company A? YES, you started with that company 30 years ago, and you are still with them. Are you celebrating 30 years with Company A? NO, you weren't there for 30 years, but you did start 30 years ago.

Not one person is saying the 50th anniversary is celebrating cars production. you are making that assumption yourself.

I am waiting for a 50th! I just paid off my 2012 and plan to keep it as my DD, so this will be my weekend car, but I do have a few wants that will need to be met though; Blue, supercharged or twin turbo v8, and look tasteful, not just stripes thrown on.

I know that no one is saying it means 50 years of my production. As I explained in my earlier posts, with the way I view anniversary as it relates to cars/marriage/whatever I feel/view/define anniversary as continuous which is why I disagree about a anniversary model.

Your right but forgot one thing- The $4995 MSRP add on GM usually tacks onto
all the Special / Limited production models. Most are not worth it imo.

The 45th had an exclusive paint color and exclusive wheels as well. Loved the 45th and the other anniversary editions. Looking forward to it even if it's only an appearance package. I don't think anybody really expects exclusive performance parts for an anniversary edition. Can you imagine how pissed people would be if it was supercharged and you couldn't get it on the regular model? So really, what else could they do for the 50th?

Correct on the paint and wheels for the 45th. What I am saying is If GM offers a ZL1 or Z/28 in 2017 maybe GM will offer an anniversary edition like they did with 60th Anniversary Z06. We can only dream GM will offer an anniversary package with some extra HP.

Well they can have a 50th anniversary edition AND them hit up a 50 years of production model in a few years. Good marketing....
