2018 1 LT Headlights upgrade
Hello guys, first post here.
My son just got a 2018 1 LT which comes with the regular halogen headlights. I want to buy him for Christmas whatever he needs to upgrade the headlights to HID or LEDs. Could some one please tell me what are the options available? Thanks in advance. |

Take a look at that and see if those will work. Had to use a 2017, but there's no change between the 2017/18 headlights on a 1LT.

So you basically used the same headlights, but retrofit the HIDs to it? |

My buddy got some for his from Supernova LEDs. Cool part is that it tells you exactly what LEDs fit for each light.

FYI I did this for an LED upgrade: http://www.camaro6.com/forums/showpo...postcount=4033. The new low/high beam LED's are highly effective and so far I've had no issues with them whatsoever.
If you are very-very pesky about a 100% color match with the vertical DRL LED's already on the car, you might want to choose LED's with a slightly lower color temp than mine---they are 6000K and you probably need 5500K for a perfect match. The difference is barely noticeable, but it's there. (I'm not going to make a change since the it's really subtle, plus I have the illuminated bowtie logo and its light is slightly different, too.) |

When I got the parts to custom fit a 2016 SS nose to my el camino early last year , gen5 diy got me the same headlights as factory complete with pigtails to retrofit with plus the pigtails for 4 running lights I was hooking up for a hint over $1000 for everything. Dealer msrp for 1 headlight was around that much.
The retrofit source lights are good, but require more time & skill to make work. |

I did the Diode Dynamics HID low beam with relay harness upgrade on my 2LT last weekend. Easy enough, they make it plug and play. I played with the idea of swapping in RS headlights before choosing the DD kit - I highly recommend it.

As far as I can tell, these are a direct bulb replacement / upgrade. No having to swap the headlight housing and looks to be plug and play.
